Nashik: A 21-year-old youth has been arrested for taking pictures of a military area at Devlali in Nasik district of Maharashtra and sending them to Pakistan's WhatsApp group. Police have given information in this regard on Sunday. There are defence establishments like School of Artillery, Artillery Centre and Combat Army Aviation Training School (CATS) at Devlali in Nasik district.

A police official informed that the accused Sanjeev Kumar was caught by some Jawans on Friday when he was taking pictures of the military hospital area in Devlali camp on his mobile phone. It is not allowed to take photos or make videos in this area. The official said that the soldiers seized his mobile phone and found out during the investigation that the man allegedly made photos on a WhatsApp group in Pakistan. He has been handed over to the Devlali camp police on Saturday evening.

Police said, the person was arrested after a complaint was made by an army officer in the police and a case has been registered against him under the provisions of the Government Secrecy Act. The accused is originally a resident of Gopalganj district of Bihar and lives in a slum near Devlali Camp railway station. He lives by wages at a construction site in the army area.
