Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray underwent successful surgery by a team of orthopaedic doctors at the Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital here on Friday morning to address a neck issue, Shiv Sena Chief Spokesperson Sanjay Raut said.  Thackeray is expected to be released from the hospital in a day or two, according to official sources.

"The Chief Minister underwent surgery to address the issue, and the procedure was successful... During the operation, he was in a stable condition and has already been transferred to his hospital room. According to the official statement, his status is stable. The medical team caring for him will provide more information", Raut spoke briefly to the press.

The Chief Minister was rushed to the hospital late on Wednesday, just a few days after he was shown wearing a neck brace in a public online event. However, the CM assuaged fears by stating that he had been suffering from neck troubles for a couple of years throughout the Covid epidemic but had disregarded them, with the aggravation prompting doctors to recommend a 'proper treatment' for it.

The operation of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray will be carried out soon.
