In Maharashtra, the Congress has termed the swearing in of Chief Minister to Devendra Fadnavis in an unprecedented political development with the mandate as betrayal and betrayal of democracy. The party's chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala tweeted,
Mujhe Mat Dekho yoon ujaale mein laakar, siyaasat hoon main, kapade nahin pahanatee".He further said this is called  Betrayal of mandate, betrayal of democracy.

Earlier in his statement, senior party leader Abhishek Singhvi said that Congress, Shiv Sena and NCP should have completed talks within three days. Singhvi tweeted that I am shocked to read about Maharashtra. At first thought that this is fake news. Personally speaking, the talks of the three parties should not last more than three days. It lasted very long. If given the opportunity, those who took advantage immediately grabbed it.

Earlier, senior Congress leader Abhishek Singhvi expressed surprise at the political developments in Maharashtra. "Surreal wht I read abt #Maharashtra. Thought it was fake news. Candidly &personally speaking, our tripartite negotiations shd not have gone on for more than 3 days...took too long. Window given was grabbed by fast movers. #pawarji tussi grt ho! Amazing if true, still not sure," he said in a tweet.
