New Delhi: Bollywood actress Mahima Chaudhary on Monday urged people to vote for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Lake Town area of West Bengal. While it is common for film stars to appear in the election campaign, there is an unusual feature in the election campaign of Mahila Chaudhary and that is that last week, Mahima Chaudhary appeared in a roadshow for the Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate.

There is a strong contest in Bengal between the BJP and TMC. Both parties do not miss any opportunity to target each other. Both parties are fighting for a 294-member seat of power in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly. So far, there have been many such incidents of violence in the election campaign, when both parties have accused each other of inciting violence. In such a hot political environment, Mahima Chaudhary campaigned for both BJP and TMC. This is a very interesting thing.

On Monday, Mahima Chaudhary joined the vote campaign for the BJP candidate in Sabyasachi Dutta in the Lake Town area. Earlier, she appeared in a roadshow for TMC candidate Madan Mitra in Kamarhati on 5 April. The West Bengal assembly elections are being held in eight phases and will end on April 29. The results will be released on 2 May.
