Bhopal: Traditional Mahua will now be sold in liquor shops in Madhya Pradesh. In fact, through the new excise policy of the State, the sale of Mahua has been legally validated. Recently the Madhya Pradesh government has announced a new excise policy going out of the way. It is being said that now the traditional liquor made from Mahua will be legal in the state. Along with this, it is also ordered that in the name of heritage liquor, it will also be sold at liquor shops.

In fact, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who attended the Tribal Pride Day (Tribal Pride Week) function in Mandla yesterday, has announced this. In his announcement, he said, "This will be a source of income for the tribals.'' He further said, "The new excise policy is coming. Under this, if someone traditionally makes liquor from Mahua, it will not be illegal. It will also be sold at liquor shops in the name of heritage liquor. We will also make that a means of increasing the income of the tribals. They can make traditions for the living, if they traditionally make it, they will also have the right to sell and the Government will give this right of legal value.''

He added, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi decided to celebrate Tribal Pride Day across the country on 15th November every year and organize various programmes of tribal pride in every corner of the country and launched this campaign from Bhopal. From this venue, CM also dedicated and laid the foundation stone of development works costing more than Rs. 600 crore.
