At least 8 people were killed and 47 others were injured in a car bomb blast in Afghanistan's western Herat province. Provincial hospital spokesperson Rafiq Sherzai said on Saturday that the condition of some of the injured is critical, which is likely to increase the number of deceased. 14 houses have also been damaged in this blast.

It has been learned that Afghanistan Interior Ministry spokesman Tariq Arian said that a child was also among the dead, while 11 Afghan security forces were also injured in the attack. No organization has taken responsibility for this blast so far. It is also being said that just hours after the blast, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) issued a press release in New York criticizing the blast, and said that the Afghanistan government and the Taliban would resume talks in Qatar. Despite this, the attacks targeting common citizens are 'alarm bells.'

The council said, "These heinous attacks have been carried out by activists and human rights activists in the administrative and judicial service, media, healthcare, including women who hold important positions and also those who are involved in human rights, ethnic and religious minorities. Working to protect.''
