Malayalam film industry professionals pay tribute to National Award winner KPAC Lalitha

CHENNAI Several Malayalam film industry professionals, including actors Mammootty, Prithviraj, and Keerthy Suresh, offered glowing tributes to National Award recipient K.P.A.C. Lalitha, who died on Tuesday at a Kochi hospital.

Even as condolences poured in, the news of the veteran's death cast a pall over the Malayalam cinema industry. Mammootty, the Malayalam superstar, was among the first to express his condolences. The actor posted in Malayalam saying he had lost someone close to him.

Actress Mamta Mohandas remembered happy recollections of working with the veteran. She wrote on Instagram, "I'll always remember you from our hilarious scenes together in 'Katha Thudarunnu,' as well as some wonderful recollections of our time together in Bahrain with my family during your visit. You will be remembered for the rest of your life. Thank you for everything..." On Twitter, actress Keerthy Suresh offered her sympathy. "I was deeply heartbroken to learn of the great KPAC's death. Aunty Lalitha. My deepest sympathies to the family."

On Instagram, actor Prithviraj Sukumaran offered a poignant tribute to the actress. He wrote, "Aunty Lalitha, may you rest in peace! It was an honour to be able to share the silver screen with you! One of the most talented actresses I've ever seen." Shivada, an actress, also paid tribute on Instagram. "She stated," she explained "I'll always treasure those wonderful memories we shared... Lalithamma, may your soul rest in peace. " Revathy, who is equally popular in Tamil and Malayalam cinema, paid respect to the veteran, stating, "Lalitha Chechi is a character in the film Lalitha Chechi. Thank you, Chechi, for all of your performances... you will live on through them all for centuries. May your soul find rest."
