Kolkata: Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has joined hands to form a united front against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. However, Mamata Banerjee has categorically denied any alliance with Congress in this order. The TMC supremo has said, 'Congress can go its way, we will go our way.'

In fact, the TMC aimed to form a united front of opposition parties to counter the BJP in Goa but parted ways with Congress. She claimed that no regional party has cordial relations with the Congress. She had also spoken to Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on the issue and stressed the need for all regional parties to jointly fight the BJP.

At the same time, Mamata also expressed hope that Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party (SP) will win the UP elections. Mamata Banerjee further said 'The BJP-led central government has demolished the federal structure of the country. The Constitution is being demolished.' During the discussion with the Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu and Telangana, Mamata spoke on the plan to hold a meeting of opposition Chief Ministers in Delhi. Let me tell you that Mamata has started mobilizing all the opposition against the BJP. Mamata Banerjee is eyeing the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and is trying to declare herself a contender for the PM's post.
