Kolkata: West Bengal CM and Trinamool Congress (TMC) Mamta Banerjee has reacted sharply to Union Home Minister Amit Shah on the issue of the National Civil Register (NRC). Mamta Banerjee has said that we will not allow NRC to be implemented in Bengal. He said that no one can take away the citizenship of any person resident in Bengal. We do not distribute on the basis of Hindus and Muslims.
In fact, while giving a statement in the Upper House on Wednesday, Amit Shah said that the process of NRC was taken up in Assam. When the NRC process is implemented in the whole country, then the NRC process in Assam will be implemented again. People of any religion need not be afraid. During the Question Hour in the Rajya Sabha, all questions regarding NRC were asked, which was answered by Home Minister Amit Shah. During the discussion, the Home Minister also explained the difference between National Citizen Register (NRC) and the Citizenship Amendment Bill.

In response to Syed Nasir Hussain's question related to NRC, Home Minister Amit Shah said that people are skeptical about NRC and Citizenship Amendment Bill. There is no provision within NRC that people of other religions should not be taken on the register. People of all religions will be included in it, who are citizens of India. There is no question of partiality on the basis of religion.
