Kolkata: West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said on Tuesday that despite sending a verified list of farmers to the Center by the TMC government, the central government of BJP has not given the amount under the PM Kisan Yojana to farmers in the state. She said that the BJP is making false claims that the West Bengal government is not giving money to the farmers.

CM Banerjee further said that the Trinamool Congress government is giving five thousand rupees to every farmer and has also arranged free crop insurance. CM Mamata had said in the assembly on Monday that out of the six lakh applications sent for verification by the central government, the state government had sent a list of the names of 2.5 lakh farmers. Addressing a public meeting in Kalna in the former Bardhaman district, Mamata said that the farmers who are agitating outside Delhi are facing atrocities. Accusing the BJP of spreading lies about Hindutva, Banerjee said that her party does not distribute on the basis of religion.

He further said that the BJP has transformed the country into a crematorium, but we will not allow it to happen in Bengal. Banerjee said that Trinamool would register a third consecutive victory in the assembly elections. Humayun Kabir, an IPS officer who resigned from the job a few days ago, joined the Trinamool Congress in Banerjee's presence at the rally.
