Kolkata: West Bengal CM and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee may attend Hemant Soren's swearing-in ceremony as CM of Jharkhand. The swearing-in ceremony will take place on 29 December in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. A senior leader of Banerjee's party TMC has said, "We have good relations with Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and Hemant Soren. For the time being, it has been decided that the President of our party along with some senior leaders will attend the swearing-in on 29 December.

It is noteworthy that senior leaders of opposition parties will attend the oath-taking ceremony of Hemant Soren. The presence of these leaders at an event is seen as a 'unity demonstration' against the backdrop of protests against the revised Citizenship Act (CAA) and the proposed National Civil Register (NRC) across the country. He said that the event would showcase the "strength show and unity of opposition leaders".

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo and former CM of Bihar Lalu Prasad Yadav will not be included in the swearing-in ceremony of Hemant Soren. A senior RJD leader has said that, 'Hemant Soren had invited the RJD supremo to attend the ceremony, but Lalu's health is not good. Due to this, they will not be able to join. '
