Islamabad: Pakistan is preparing to open another religious place for Hindu devotees. According to the news, the doors of Panj Tirath, a historic ancient Hindu religious site located in Peshawar, can be opened for Hindu devotees. The same year Pakistan declared Panj Tirath a national heritage. According to the English newspaper The Times of India, this temple can be opened next month.
Let us tell you that this is the second such temple in recent times, which the Government of Pakistan has decided to open. In October this year, a thousand year old Shivala Teja Singh Temple was opened. Apart from this, the doors of Gurudwara Choa Sahib in Sialkot were also opened before opening of Kartarpur corridor. All of them were closed after the partition of the country. Panj Tirath is famous for its five ponds. Because of these ponds, this shrine was named Panj Tirath. Also there is a very ancient temple and a garden with palm trees.
It is believed that bathing in the ponds of this month is auspicious. Here, devotees take a dip of faith in the pond and worship it under the palm trees. This worship was going on since the 17th century. It was interrupted in the middle. During the Afghan Durrani dynasty in the mid-seventeenth century the place was heavily damaged and the pond and surrounding temples were destroyed in their attack. Later during the Sikh rule in the 18th century, the Hindus again strengthened and they rebuilt the place and started worshiping again.
