Kolkata: All preparations have been completed for the Martyrs' Day programme of West Bengal's ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC). The TMC is organizing a big event on this occasion. Every year, the TMC's programme is organized on a large scale. But for the last two years, due to corona infection, it was being held virtually. Lakhs of people are expected to participate in this programme of TMC. In Bengal, the stage has been set up in Kolkata for the Martyrs' Day celebrations. The roads of Bengal are completely covered with banners and posters of the TMC.  

Martyrs' Day is the biggest event of the TMC. On this day, party chief Mamata Banerjee presents the party's roadmap through a rally. It is being told that Mamata Banerjee can also give a message to her political opponents from the dais. Mamata Banerjee is also likely to make several important announcements at this rally. According to TMC leaders, more than 10 lakh people are likely to attend the rally. CM Mamata Banerjee herself released a video message calling upon more and more people to reach Kolkata on the occasion of Martyrs' Day.  

On July 21, 1993, 13 TMC workers were shot dead in Kolkata. In whose memory the Martyrs' Day is celebrated. At that time, Mamata Banerjee was the leader of the TMC Youth Congress. Under her leadership, there was a major agitation against the alleged electoral malpractices of the then Left government. The police also resorted to lathi charges and firing on the protesters to stop them. In which 13 Trinamool Youth Congress workers were killed. Since then, Mamata Banerjee celebrates July 21 every year as Shaheedi Diwas.
