Kolkata: Christmas is being celebrated across the world today with full fanfare. Speaking on the occasion, West Bengal CM and Trinamool Congress (TMC) National President Mamata Banerjee on Thursday greeted the people on Christmas after attending a prayer meeting at a church in the city. Mamata Banerjee attended the prayer held at the Cathedral of the Holi Rori Church in Kolkata.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Mamata Banerjee said that the beauty of Bengal is that we all celebrate festivals and give a message of peace, happiness and gaiety. The Christmas festival has begun everywhere with glee. Christmas and New Year parties have been banned this time due to the corona epidemic.

West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhanhar has also greeted the people of the state on Christmas. State Governor Dhanhar has said that leader of opposition in the state assembly Abdul Mannan and state government minister Firhad Hakim have met him separately at Raj Bhawan to greet the Christmas festival.
