Mamta banerjee to set up 3000 centres in West Bengal to spread Awareness on Government Schemes

In an effort to spread awareness among people about the Government welfare schemes and benefits, Trinamool Congress led Mamta government has started over 3,000 Bangla Sahayata/ Sahayog Kendras (BSKs) on Thursday, November 5, 2020. The welfare schemes without proper awareness did not reach the needy people and most goes unused by the needy. This centres will ensure proper utilization as they create awareness about the schemes and welfare programs available with the government.

Banerjee said in a press conference, "3,437 Bangla Sahayata/ Sahayog Kendras (BSK) have been started. I would like to say to the District Magistrates that they must ensure the smooth functioning of these centres to inform the general public of the available government schemes and benefits which accrue to them".

Updating the COVID-19 situation in the state she said the positivity rate remains at 8.23% even after Durga Puja. The Union Health Ministry reports, there are 36,246 active cases in the state with 3,46,262 recovered cases and 7,068 deaths so far. Recently, Mamta Banerjee led government issued pattas to 25000 refugee families granting them the land right, which indirectly recognizes them legally.
