Kolkata: West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has once again expressed her desire to become the face of the opposition in the 2024 elections. On Tuesday, Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata had convened a meeting of the party's state committee. The meeting was also attended by poll strategist Prashant Kishor, party veterans Firhad Hakim, Shukhendu Sekhar, Sugata Roy and Subrata Bakshi.

During this, Mamata Banerjee said that in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Bengal will work to show the way to the opposition. She further said that the leaders of the opposition will have to come together and strengthen themselves in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Tripura and other states as well. Tmc leaders will reach these states in the coming time. In the meeting, the Bengal CM also constituted a new state committee. 

Mamata asked all TMC MLAs to be present during the budget session of the Bengal assembly. Mamata said the BJP is trying to strangle democracy. Referring to the incident on Monday, he said all MLAs will have to be present in the session to stop the BJP. Making a statement on the exit polls, She said that some people are saying that after winning the elections in UP, the BJP will create a ruckus in Nabanna (Bengal Secretariat), but the TMC is not going to be afraid of it.
