Bangalore: In Chitradurga, Karnataka, a man named Prithviraj set fire to a tehsildar's vehicle in a fit of rage after the police allegedly refused to accept a complaint from his mother. Prithviraj doused the vehicle of the Challakere tehsildar with petrol and ignited it, but office staff quickly extinguished the flames.

The police detained Prithviraj at the scene and charged him with damaging government property, vandalizing the vehicle, and obstructing official duties. The tehsildar's office staff also filed a petition with the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) seeking protection while on duty.

Prithviraj, who is employed by a private company in Bengaluru, had been reported missing in July during a trip. His mother attempted to file a missing person complaint at the Challakere police station on July 2, but it was not accepted. Prithviraj resurfaced at the station on July 23, confronting the police about the issue.

Additionally, Prithviraj faces another case filed on August 14 for setting fire to a bike near Vidhana Soudha.
