New Delhi: India is one of the countries where the sex ratio is not in good shape. Due to lack of illiteracy and awareness, people in society suffer from a particular mindset. But now there is a gradual change in it. Due to the increasing level of education in society, people are beginning to understand its importance. Sex ratio means the number of females per 1000 males. In India, in the third survey conducted by the National Family Health Survey in 2005-06, there were 914 women per 1000 men, but in the fourth survey conducted in 20015-16, the number increased to 919.

Punjab has the highest improvement in the country with an increase of 126 points, but still, this state is among the states with the worst sex ratio. According to the fourth survey, there are only 860 females per 1000 males. The worst situation is in Sikkim. With a fall of 175 points, there are only 809 females per 1000 males. Sikkim is the lowest in the country in terms of sex ratio.

These figures were presented in response to a question by the Ministry of National Health and Family Welfare in the last Lok Sabha session. Kerala tops the survey conducted by NFHS. There are 1047 females per 1000 males. The survey found that the conditions in the states of North India were bad. Kerala is the most literate state in the country with a positive effect on sex ratio.
