Lucknow: Delhi's ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced to provide 300 units of electricity free to all domestic consumers and waive off outstanding electricity bills on 38 lakh families when the government is formed in the upcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. Addressing a press conference on Thursday, Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said that once the government is formed in Uttar Pradesh, we will provide free electricity up to 300 units to all domestic consumers in the state. At the same time, the Government will provide free electricity to farmers with all kinds of holdings, big and small.

Sisodia also said that the bills of 38 lakh families in the state, which are suffering from arbitrary electricity bills, will be waived off when the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government is formed and a 24-hour power supply will be provided to the state. Sisodia alleged that the government in Uttar Pradesh has made electricity so expensive that it is becoming very difficult to pay the electricity bill. Sisodia said, "The government says that they will either be treated as criminals if they do not pay the electricity bill.''

Sisodia claimed, "There are hundreds of cases in UP where the common man has committed suicide by looking at expensive electricity bills. In Aligarh, a farmer named Ramji Lal had committed suicide for not being able to pay the electricity bill. A 17-year-old girl died in Eta simply because the electricity department had sent a wrong bill to her father, who was declared a criminal for not being able to pay it.''
