Karachi: Pakistan's cricket is famous for spot-fixing in matches. Many players of the country have come under the limelight in the spot-fixing cases. Another cricketer's name has been added to this list. The name of this player is Mansoor Akhtar. Akhtar has been a former Pakistan Test batsman. Omar Akmal, a player of the Pakistan team, has filed a complaint about Mansoor Akhtar. Omar Akmal has complained to the Anti-Corruption Unit of the International Cricket Council. Akmal said that Mansoor Akhtar had approached him for spot fixing during the Canada Global League.

Akmal had informed the ICC and the Global League organizers about this. ICC ACU official Steve Richardson reached Karachi's National Stadium where Mansoor was called for questioning. Mansoor, who has played 19 Tests and 41 ODIs for Pakistan, was accused by Omar Akmal for spot-fixing during CGL Mansoor, who was part of a franchise, has denied the allegations. But Mansoor went underground after Omar's allegations came to the media.

He now lives in the US but there was speculation that he had returned to Karachi. Richardson will meet Omar in Lahore. A PCB source said, "We do not know what happened in the meeting but the ICC official called Mansoor to the stadium and the two stayed together for an hour." During the Test series in England tour in 2010, Salman Butt, Mohammad Aamir and Mohammad Asif did spot-fixing together. Many such allegations have been made earlier also.
