New Delhi: The central government and the opposition are at loggerheads over the shortage of corona vaccine. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has claimed that absurd statements are only being made to create panic among the people. Earlier, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi had said, 'There are joomla, not vaccine!'

In a series of tweets, Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said, "In the context of availability of vaccine, I have learnt from statements and letters from various state governments and leaders that actual analysis of facts can better understand this situation, meaningless statements are being made only to create panic among the people." He further said, 'In June, 11.46 crore vaccine supplements were provided to state governments and Union Territories and this availability has been increased to Rs 13.50 crore in the month of July, 'so vaccination can take place through government and private hospitals.'

Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said, "The central government had informed the states on June 19, 2021, how many doses of vaccine will be provided in the states in July, followed by the Centre's daily vaccine availability to states for the first and second fortnight of July on June 27 and July 13."
