Yesteryear actress Manya Naidu, who is best known in Malayalam cinema, for her performances in ‘Joker’ and ‘Kunjikoonan’ has been making headlines for lending a helping hand for India’s COVID-19 relief. The star, who lives in the US with her family, donated Rs. 1 lakh to actor Upendra’s fundraising campaign, and has also been helping the people in need.

said the actress in an exclusive conversation . “My prayers are that all the people who could afford help each other. The gloom and doom of the pandemic breaks my heart. And it makes me sad to know that people who could afford to help are not doing it. We have to understand that the person who is in need of help could be any of us tomorrow. Money is something that will come today and go tomorrow. There have been so many people who helped me to be where I am today. So I believe in paying it forward,” Manya said.

Manya donates 1 lakh to COVID-19 relief says, "Nobody is invincible, so help as much as you can afford, I want everyone to know that I am praying every single day for India to heal. My prayers are with the people, who are struggling to afford three meals a day, people who lost their loved ones. Along with that I also want to remind people to be cautious. Take all the precautions even after getting fully vaccinated. In the US, even though President Joe Biden has announced that you don’t need to wear a mask in certain settings, once vaccinated, I do wear one. My daughter Omi wears one. There’s no harm in taking precautions. I want everyone to stay safe, because we don’t know the outcome of this yet.”

Manya Naidu signed off urging people to stay safe.
