Dehradun: The body of Martyred soldier Rajendra Singh Negi, an Ambiwala resident of Dehradun, Uttarakhand, will reach Doon on Wednesday. The army told the family that the body would be transported from Srinagar to Delhi by plane. 

Ambiwala Rahwadi soldier Rajendra Singh Negi was posted in 11 Garhwal Rifles of the Army. On 8 February 2020, he went missing in the snow in Gulmarg area of Baramulla during his duty. When he was not found after several days of searching, the army declared him martyred.

Eight months later, on August 15, the Jammu police recovered his body. After that, his body was kept in the army's base hospital in Srinagar. Family members said that on behalf of the unit, on Tuesday, the body will be sent to Doon, the army has said that the body will bring Doon on Wednesday. According to the information received, the temperature has started increasing in Kashmir these days, due to which the snow melting has started. This is the reason why the body of a soldier buried in the snow had come up from the snow. After completing all the legal and corona formalities, the body of the jawan was handed over to his battalion. The funeral procession will be done after the body of the soldier arrives.
