Kerela: More than 80 labours buried in landslide, bodies of 5 removed from debris

A painful accident has taken place in the Rajmala area of Idukki District in Kerala. After continuous rains in the state, there was a landslide in the area on Friday. Many workers have gone missing in this accident. Relief work is going on. So far the bodies of 5 laborers have been removed, while 10 have been taken out alive. There is a stir in the area. Many teams have been deployed for relief work.

In this regard, the Health Minister of Kerala has said that a mobile medical team and fifteen ambulances have been sent to the incident site. The National Disaster Response Force has been deployed to rescue people trapped in landslides in Rajmala. Police, fire, forest and revenue officers have also been instructed to intensify rescue operations. Apart from this, there has been heavy rain in northern Kerala. In view of heavy rains, a 'Red Alert' has been issued for Wayanad and Idukki District. Nilambur has been flooded due to river Cheliar. A 'red alert' has been issued for the Malappuram district on Friday.

In 9 districts including Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod, Orange alert has been issued till August 9.
