The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board is preparing for its largest-ever recruitment drive, with an astonishing 48 lakh applicants vying for 60,244 constable positions. The recruitment process will feature a crucial written re-examination scheduled for August 23-25 and August 30-31. Each day will see two shifts, accommodating approximately 4.8 lakh candidates per shift.

This re-examination became necessary after the February test was canceled due to a question paper leak, leading to over 400 arrests nationwide. To uphold the integrity of the examination, only government and government-aided schools have been chosen as test centers.

Rajeev Krishna, the board’s Chairman, announced that a total of 1,174 centers across urban areas will host the exams. Each district will have two nodal officers (ADM and ASP), and officials from SP, ASP, and DSP ranks will supervise the centers.

To maintain fairness, the UP police and Special Task Force (STF) will oversee 1,541 individuals with a history of cheating over the past decade. The board has set up 1,174 examination centers in 67 districts, with ADMs and ASPs appointed as nodal heads. Ensuring 'information security' is a top priority, with various security measures in place.

Krishna also noted that around 20,000 students flagged as suspicious will need to arrive at their centers 150 minutes before the exam to undergo additional verification. These students will face further scrutiny after passing the written test.

To combat fraud, eKYC systems will be deployed at examination centers, and post-exam verification will be conducted. The Board has issued alerts about potential fraud and scams on platforms like Telegram and is collaborating with STF and local police to address these issues. Candidates are encouraged to stay informed and cautious through the Board’s website and social media channels. Admit cards for the August 23 examination are now available for download.
