Lucknow: Like in Mahavir Jayanti, Buddha Jayanti, Gandhi Jayanti, and Shivratri, slaughterhouses and meat shops will remain closed on the birthday of Sadhu TL Vaswani in Uttar Pradesh's capital Lucknow. Lucknow Principal Secretary Urban Development Amrit Abhijat has also issued a government order in this regard. Slaughterhouses and meat shops will be compulsorily closed on Friday, November 25, the birthday of TL Vaswani, the government order said. Municipal commissioners and executive officers have been asked to ensure strict compliance of this order.

It has been decided to keep it closed on the birth anniversary of TL Vaswani like Mahavir Jayanti, Buddha Jayanti, Gandhi Jayanti, and Shivaratri, the government order said. Several programs will also be organized across the country to mark the birth anniversary of freedom fighter Sadhu TL Vaswani, founder of Sadhu Vaswani Mission. Born on November 15, 1879, in Hyderabad, Sadhu TL Vaswani left the government job after taking higher education and became active in the freedom struggle at an early age.

TL Vaswani tried throughout his life to stop killing animals. They considered all living beings to be the same. He had immense love for the living being. Instead of stopping the killing of animals, he was also ready to cut his head. Not only animals, he was of the opinion that trees and plants also have life. Due to this, the additional chief secretary of urban development issued this government order on the occasion of his birth anniversary on November 25.
