Srinagar: On August 5, the central government announced the abolition of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. After this decision of the Center, the special status of the state ended. After this decision, the government put almost all the opposition leaders of the state under house arrest. In this episode, state veteran and former CM Mehbooba Mufti has also been kept in custody. After this incident, Mehbooba, who has been active on Twitter, has been away from this social media for almost 47 days. A tweet from his Twitter account has been tweeted after 47 days.

Mehbooba Mufti's daughter Iltija tweeted and informed that she is running her mother's Twitter account. PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti has asked the government to provide information about those imprisoned leaders after August 5, including children and women. The Mufti has also sought details of people lodged in jails outside the state. After the removal of Article 370, the imprisoned Mehbooba has sent this letter through his daughter Iltija to the Union Home Secretary and Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir.

Iltija said in the letter that "my mother has been detained since the evening of August 5. I met her for a few minutes last week. In the meantime, my mother has expressed concern over the arrests and detention of people after the constitutional orders passed by the President and the reorganization law passed". The letter has also been posted on Mehbooba's Twitter handle.

She said that she is managing her mother's Twitter handle with her permission. Many separatist leaders, including Mehbooba Mufti and National Conference chief Omar Abdullah, have been in custody since the removal of Section 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. Yesterday i.e. on Friday, Iltija targeted the central government and said that not every Kashmiri is a stone-pelter or a terrorist.
