NEW DELHI: The Saket Court on Wednesday approved a narco test of Aftab Ameen Poonawalla who brutally killed his live-in partner Shraddha Walkar.

The development comes after the Delhi Police requested authorization for the test earlier in the morning, claiming that he wasn't cooperating with the inquiry.

A day earlier, the police had also taken him to his home in Chattarpur, which he shared with Walkar, to recreate the crime.

According to sources, when Aftab was initially summoned for interrogation, he informed the detectives that the victim had left the house on May 22.

"However, her belongings were at the home to which Aftab said police that she had only taken her cellphone. He also said that they did not speak to each other since she left," said the sources.

Aftab eventually confessed to killing the victim and then chopping her body into 35 pieces after the police strongly questioned him and used digital evidence, including her Instagram account, which revealed the location of the Mehrauli area.

He was arrested on November 12.
