The petrol DCT versions of MG Motor's Hector and Hector Plus SUVs have been withdrawn from the market. The decision comes nearly a year after the company released CVT-equipped SUVs. According to the MG Motor website, the Hector and Hector Plus are currently only available in petrol and diesel models with a six-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed CVT.
The reason for MG Motor's decision to withdraw the DCT models has not been revealed. Higher demand for CVT models, however, is said to have motivated MG to make the decision.

MG Motor presently offers three powerplant options for the Hector SUV. A 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine with 141 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque is one of them. A 1.5-litre petrol-hybrid with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system produces a comparable amount of power. A 2.0-litre diesel engine producing 167 hp and 350 Nm of peak torque is also available.

MG Motor has raised the cost of its whole portfolio, which includes the Hector, Hector Plus, Gloster, Astor, and ZS EV, as of this month. The price increase starts at roughly 55,000 for the Hector and Hector Plus and goes all the way up to over 1.30 lakh for the flagship Gloster SUV.

The ZS EV, MG Motor's only electric vehicle available in India, has also suffered a price rise of roughly 50,000 rupees. MG Motor has announced that it would launch a new electric car, its second in the nation, before the end of next year. MG Motor sold 40,273 units of its automobiles in India last year. It represents a 43 percent increase above revenues in 2020. All of its flagship vehicles, which are all SUVs, have witnessed considerable demand increases. While the Hector SUV, MG's debut model in India, saw a 21.5 percent increase in 2021, the Gloster luxury SUV has also shown great demand since its launch in October of 2020. Though the numbers aren't huge, MG's electric car ZS EV had a 145 percent increase in sales last year.
