Sydney: Former Australia captain Michael Clarke believes current head coach Justin Langer will step down when the Ashes are won at home.

On Sunday, Australia won its first Men's T20 World Cup trophy under Langer's guidance in Dubai. However, Clarke believes that Langer, whose contract as Australia's head coach expires in mid-2022, would not accompany the team on its upcoming tour of Pakistan in March and April.

"I believe Australia will win The Ashes. So, Australia wins the T20 World Cup and The Ashes, and JL resigns. JL is going to say, "You know what, I've accomplished what I came here to accomplish, and I've taken a lot of flak for it." I've got a lot of stick thrown at me "Clarke told Sky Sports Radio's Big Sports Breakfast show.

"He'll say, "I've served my time, and I'm out of here." He'll say, "I came to do a job and get Australia back to No. 1 in the world, and I've done that, and I'm out of here." I don't think he'll even go to that (tour of Pakistan). I believe his final Test will be the final Test of the Ashes series. Australia will win, and a new coach will accompany them to Pakistan "Clarke, who captained Australia to the 2015 Cricket World Cup in Australia, added.
