In the view of surging CORONA cases many states are imposing strict limitations or lockdown for few days to break the chain. Fearing from the fresh lockdown situation a large number of migrant workers from Tamil Nadu and Kerala have gathered at the Chennai Central railway station.

Among the returnees one boy named Das said that he heard there's chance of lockdown in state and things for survival will becomes difficult so before such happens he with his people want to leave. They are from Kerala, and are saying to come back again for the next year's season but not before. The trauma of last year’s lockdown is still fresh in their minds. Another worker, Zulfikar, claims the fear of getting stuck during another lockdown has gripped most of the migrant workers. Officials from Southern Railways have assured that trains are available in adequate numbers for people to travel back to their hometowns.

The Tamil Nadu government has announced multiple restrictions from April 20, a night curfew between 10 pm and 4 am and a complete lockdown on Sundays. In the meanwhile, Tamil Nadu reports 10,273 new cases and 42 more deaths.
