BARAMULLA (Kashmir): Military associate with enough arms and heavy ammunition was apprehended by police.
On Friday, security forces set up a routine mobile vehicle checkpoint at the Authoora Bala Bridge in Baramulla, Kashmir. During the checking, the joint party got an Intel about the movement of a person, which raised few eyebrows in suspicion, a police official said.
The militant associate was identified as Mohammad Saleem Khan, a resident of Shrakwara, Kreeri. He tried to flee after noticing the checkpoint. But he was arrested tactically.
A pistol with a magazine and five pistol round were recovered from Saleem’s residence. During the investigation, police came to know why Saleem managed to get his hands on arms and ammunition.
He said that the main intention was to carry out terrorist activities in Kreeri and adjacent areas. A police case has been filed and a thorough investigation is being scheduled.
