Toronto: According to authorities, a cargo container containing gold and other valuables worth more than $20 million Canadian dollars ($14.8 million) was taken from Toronto's Pearson International Airport.

A "high value" container was taken from a holding area facility after being unloaded from a plane, according to Peel Regional Police Inspector Stephen Duivesteyn on Monday night.

According to "usual procedure," the aircraft was unloaded, and the cargo was then moved from it to a storage facility. "The shipment in the container was highly valuable. Gold was present, but it wasn't the only metal in it. Other things with monetary value were also inside.
