Aurangabad: The revelations of how a party like Shiv Sena in Maharashtra agreed to an alliance with Congress have started gradually. Ashok Chavan, a veteran Congress leader and a minister in the Maharashtra government, has said that Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi had taken a written assurance from Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray that he would run the government within the ambit of the Constitution. If not done, the Congress will withdraw support from them.
Public Works Minister Ashok Chavan in Uddhav Thackeray's government has said that, 'Sonia Gandhi has told us that you need to get it in writing that the government will work according to the Constitution. If it deviates from the preamble, then we will exit the government. We told this to Uddhav Thackeray. Shiv Sena accepted it.
Let us tell you that the BJP and Shiv Sena alliance got a majority in the Maharashtra assembly elections held in November last year. After the results of the election, the Shiv Sena broke the alliance with the BJP for the post of CM. After this, Shiv Sena unexpectedly formed a government in Maharashtra in alliance with NCP and Congress.
