The Ministry of AYUSH will launch as a prophylaxis an clinical research study on Ayurveda interventions in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and as an add-on for the care of COVID 19. The Ministry of AYUSH said in a statement, these studies will be completed with the technical support of the Ministry of AYUSH, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Science, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and ICMR. It was informed that AYUSH Minister Shripad Naik and Health Minister Harsh Vardhan will jointly launch three AYUSH studies related to COVID-19 status on Thursday.

In his statement, he said, '(AYUSH) Ministry is studying the effects of AYUSH-based prophylactic interventions in high risk population and AYUSH advocates and AYUSH COVID 19 prevention measures.' An interdisciplinary AYUSH research and development task force has been formed with a group of experts under Dr. Bhushan Patwardhan, Vice Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC), to formulate and develop a strategy for this initiative.

For your information, let us tell you that the task force has prepared clinical research protocols for prophylactic studies and reports on COVID-19 positive cases and high representatives of various organizations across the country to study four different inventions. Ashwagandha, Yashtimadhu, Guduchi + Pippali and Ek Poly Hara through an in-depth review and consultative process of experts from Work will be done on the Bl formula (AYUSH-64). The ministry has also developed the Ayush Sanjivani mobile app to generate data of a large population with a target of 50 lakh people. The statement said that the expected results include the acceptance and use of AYUSH advocates and generation of data about measures among the population and its effect in prevention of COVID 19.
