205 new corona cases found in Mizoram, more than 50 children reported infected

Aizwal: At least 205 new cases of corona infection have been registered in Mizoram, including more than 50 children. With new cases of infection, the state's infection cases have risen to 13,064 on Friday. This information was given by an official. He said a man died of infection at Zoram Medical College on Thursday night, taking the death toll from the infection to 47.

In the new cases, 157 cases have been registered from Aizawl district, 18 from Lunglei, 17 from Lawangtalai, six from Champai, three each from Mamit and Saitul districts and one from Siaha district. The official said only one person had travelled recently, while the rest were found during the identification of people who came in contact with infected people. There are 3,415 active cases in the state, while 9,602 people have recovered from corona.

State Immunization Officer Dr Laljawami informed that as of Thursday, 261,346 people have been given the first dose of corona vaccine, including 17,557 in the age group of 18 to 44 years. Out of a total of 2,61,346 people, 52,149 people have been given both doses of the vaccine. On the other hand, the number of new corona cases in the country is steadily declining. The positivity rate has also declined in the last few days. The weekly positivity rate in the country has come down to 7.27 per cent.
