New Delhi: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to speak with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday after he talks with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky on the phone, government sources say. As Moscow's war on Kiev entered its 12th day, Modi is likely to speak with Putin. He has just now talked to Zelensky for the second time.

According to the sources, Modi is likely to ask the Russian President for help getting Indian nationals, mostly students, out of the Ukraine cities of Sumy, Odessa, Kharkiv, and Mariupol.

This will be Modi's second meeting with the two Presidents since the war started on February 24th, so this will be the second time.

Meanwhile, India has been sending aid to the war-torn country through planes from the Indian Air Force (IAF). These planes are used to help Indians who have been stranded in the country. On March 2, however, India again did not vote on Ukraine at the UN General Assembly "because of the whole situation."

This was New Delhi's fourth time not voting on the Ukraine issue at the United Nations. The other three were at the Security Council, where India is a member and can vote on things like this.
