New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today presented the country's general budget for the financial year 2022-23. In this fourth budget of the second term of the Modi government, the police of the national capital Delhi has been given freedom to spend freely. On hearing the huge amount announced to spend from its treasury in the Union Budget for the year 2022-2023, Delhi Police felt as if the government had pulled out its lottery.

Earlier this time more amount of 1701.03 crore has been allocated in the name of Delhi Police as compared to the budget of last financial year. Which is much more than the amount received by Delhi Police in the last several budgets so far. In this budget released on Tuesday, a total budget of 10 thousand 355.29 crore was approved for Delhi Police. Which in the last financial year (2021-2022) was only 8 thousand 654.26 crores.

In this new budget, the construction and maintenance of Delhi Police buildings and the security of Delhi have been kept paramount. Not only has it been taken care of, but at the time of releasing the budget, the Union Finance Ministry has even made it clear that where and how the 10 thousand 355.29 crore budget released will be used. So that there is no threat to the credibility of Delhi Police and the security of Delhi. A huge increase of 1 thousand 701.03 crore has also been made in this budget released for the financial year 2023.
