Shimla: A six-month-old child, including a woman, was died on the spot in a road accident on Baddi-Nalagarh NH in Himachal Pradesh, while the father and the other son were seriously injured. The accident took place due to a bike being hit by a truck near Kharuni. The truck driver fled the spot. The locals admitted the injured to the hospital.

According to the information received so far, late on Sunday evening, Lekhram, a resident of ward number one of Baddi, was going towards Nalagarh on a bike with his wife Kavita (24) and his 4-year-old Harshit and six-month-old Prince. A truck hit the bike from behind while crossing over a culvert ahead of Kharuni village, causing all the riders to fall. Lekhram and his four-year-old son fell on the other side, but the woman and the child in their arms fell towards the truck, which died after being hit by a tyre.

Lekhram and his two children were admitted to Baddi Hospital. From where 6-month-old Prince was referred to PGI, but he succumbed to his injuries on the way. Lekhram and elder son Harshit also sustained serious injuries, who were sent home after treatment. DSP Navdeep Singh said that the truck that hit the bike has been traced by the police. The truck driver will soon be detained. The accident took place due to the negligence of the truck driver. Manpura police have handed over the body to the family members of the woman after conducting a post-mortem at Nalagarh.
