New Delhi: The Modi government of the Center has banned 59 Chinese apps, including the popular Chinese app TikTok. With these Chinese apps, the security of privacy is being threatened. Apart from TikTok, other 59 popular apps that have faced restrictions including Shareite, Hello, UC Browser, Likey and WeChat.
As per the order issued by the government, the government banned 59 mobile apps that were prejudicial to India's sovereignty and integrity, defense of India, security of the state and public order. Under the provisions of the Information Technology Act under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act (IT Act), the Ministry of Information Technology (Procedure and Safeguards for Blocking of Access of Information by Public) Rules, 2009 and in view of the incidental nature of threats It has been decided to ban 59 app.
According to the government, the decision to ban these 59 apps has been taken because in view of the current information these apps are engaged in activities which are prejudicial to India's sovereignty and integrity, defense of India, security of the state and public order. The government has said that there were increased concerns about the aspects related to data security and the privacy protection of 130 crore Indians. Recently, it has been noted that the sovereignty and security of our country is also threatened by this type of concerns.
