New Delhi: The Narendra Modi government at the Centre has made a big announcement on Thursday night (June 16, 2022) regarding the Agneepath scheme. The Central Government has increased the maximum age limit for recruitment of Agniveers to 23 years. The age limit for the scheme has been fixed at 17 to 21 years, but the Defence Ministry has partially revised it to reduce the upper age limit to 23 years for the first time. That is, the youth will get this benefit of two-year relaxation in maximum age service only in the first year. It is worth noting that due to the situation created by the Corona global epidemic, the recruitment in the army was stalled for two years.

It may be recalled that the central government had announced the Agneepath scheme on Tuesday (June 14, 2022). There are violent protests in many states of the country against this scheme. Violent protests are taking place in the States of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan etc. In Bihar, protesters set on fire five trains. In Palwal, Haryana, protesters pelted stones at the DC and torched five police vehicles. To free the national highway from occupation, the police had to release tear gas shells, even aerial firing.

After the violent incidents, Union Minister and former Army Chief General VK Singh said that he does not consider arsonists to be eligible to join the Army? "I don't think this kind of shouting, violent performers are fit for the army. If I had been entrusted with the task of recruiting these, I would not have taken any of the na. At least let the plan be on the ground. '

What is the Agneepath Plan?

Let us know that, the central government has announced a firefight scheme for the recruitment of soldiers in the army, navy and air force by changing the decades-old army recruitment process. Through the 'Agneepath Scheme', the youth of the country will be given the opportunity to become 'Agniveer' and serve both jobs and services to the country. Under this, youths from 17.5 years to 21 years will be recruited for all the three services, but now the government has increased the maximum age limit from 21 to 23 for the first time. The total service period including training will be 4 years. These restorations will be done under the relevant Service Act and Regulations. For this, a transparent, automated and centralized selection process will be implemented.

Let us know that this scheme will be for the whole country, in which all sections will get an opportunity. Centralized data and records of agniveers will be maintained. However, for the post concerned, these 'Agniveers' will have to live up to the medical conditions. They will also get a chance to enroll in the 'regular cadre'. 25 per cent of the 'Agniveers' of each batch will be selected for the 'regular cadre' of the Indian Army. They will get an annual salary of Rs 4.76 lakh in the first year, which will increase to Rs 6.92 lakh in the final year.
