RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat reached Kolkata late last night. Chief will hold a meeting with officials from five provinces including North Bengal, South Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha in Kolkata today. The meeting will review the functioning of the RSS in these provinces and a strategy for expansion will be made.

In his statement, senior RSS official said that block and city level workers will be present in the meeting. The meeting is expected to discuss the expansion of the number of branches, challenges and opportunities before the volunteers. Mohan Bhagwat of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh reached Kolkata Airport at around 8.30 pm on Thursday, from where he went straight to Saltlake. Also, according to his predetermined schedule, he will meet intellectuals of the state on Friday and Saturday, after which his organizational meeting with the province heads of the Union and the heads of organizations is fixed. In which the heads of all 37 organizations have been asked to know the achievements of the Sangh in the state, as well as the heads of Sports Bharti, Arogya Bharti, Shiksha Bharti, Seva Bharti, Saksham.

According to the media report, in this meeting, the branch expansion up to the Mandal level, the social role of the union, the changing nature of the population in the border areas, the removal of Section 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, political violence and instability in Bengal including NRC and other issues is likely to be discussed. At the same time, the union chief will preside over the mega interactive session to be held on 22 and 23 September at Sharada Shishu Mandir in Howrah. During this time, he will communicate directly with the people to end the misconceptions prevailing in the state about the Sangh, after which he will leave for Nagpur in the late evening on 23 September. He said that people in the country as well as in West Bengal, towards the RSS Awareness, has increased. People are now not only joining the organization in greater numbers than before but are also expressing their views openly.
