New Delhi: Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court will hear the bail plea of Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath,'s nephew and businessman Ratul Puri in the money laundering case related to the AgustaWestland VVIP chopper scam. In the previous hearing, on the bail plea of Ratul Puri, the court issued notice to the ED and asked to reply. ED will have to answer in court today. Earlier, the ED arrested Ratul Puri in a money laundering case.

A few months ago Ratul Puri was summoned by the ED for questioning in the VIP August helicopter scam case. Ratul completely escaped from here on the pretext of going to the bathroom. A hotel in Connaught Place was also raided to take Ratul into custody, but success was not lost. Later Ratul got relief from the court.

Earlier, the Delhi High Court dismissed Ratul Puri's anticipatory bail plea in the AgustaWestland scam case. A bench of Justice Sunil Gaur had said that for an effective investigation into the case, Ratul Puri needs to be questioned in custody. The High Court had said that giving anticipatory bail to Ratul Puri would affect the trial. After considering the whole matter, the court feels primarily that Puri needs to be detained and questioned for effective investigation.
