Bangalore: The Income Tax Department has achieved great success during the assembly election campaign in Karnataka. In fact, the Income Tax Department has recovered Rs 1 crore hidden on a mango tree. In Mysore, IT officials raided Subramanya Rai's house, where the money was found. Subramaniam Rai is the brother of Ashok Rai, the Congress candidate from Puttur assembly constituency. The video of this action has also surfaced.

Income Tax officials can be seen in this video making inquiries regarding a box placed on a mango branch. When this box was opened, 2-2 thousand and 500-500 strong notes came out of it, which were about 1 crore rupees. The tree from which these rupees were found is a very dense tree. The Income Tax Department had received a tip-off that money was kept hidden in several boxes in the premises. The Puttur from where Ashok  is contesting the election, comes under Dakshina Kannada district. However, these raids are still going on and complete information about this has not been revealed yet. Even now it is not known from where this money came and for what purpose it was to be used.
