Kerala: Skymet announces, IMD claims, Monsoon to arrive in next 24 hours

NEW DELHI: However Kerala enjoyed good rains on Monday, The country’s national weather forecaster -India Meteorological Department (IMD) - remained alert, asserting the monsoon will touch the state in the next 24 hours means on Tuesday as forecasted by it 10 days ago.

Worth mention here the private weather forecast agency Skymet Weather declared the onset of monsoon in the state which marks the arrival of the rainy season in India on Monday.

“The wait for the arrival of much awaited southwest monsoon 2018 has finally come to an end on Monday. As per the weathermen, all the criteria required for the declaring the onset of monsoon over the Indian mainland has been met,” asserted the Skymet Weather forecasted agency which had predicted May 28 (Monday) as the beginning date of southwest monsoon 2018.

With monsoon advancing in country, moderately widespread rainfall is likely over Lakshdweep, Kerala, coastal Karnataka, south-interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andaman and Nicobar Islands in next 24 hours.

Since as most parts of the country reel under extreme heat waves with temperatures soaring above 45 degrees Celsius at a number of places, good news likely to come from Kerala, as Monsoon hit its coast on Monday.

The Indian Meteorological department confirmed that activities over the coast are positive for beginning of monsoon within the forecast period.
