Raipur: Monsoon session of Chhattisgarh Assembly has started from today. In view of the Covid-19 transition, along with the change in the seating arrangement of MLAs, many other measures are being taken care of. To follow the order to keep a distance of 6 feet, a glass wall has been built in between the seats. An official of the house informed about it. In the midst of this 4-day session, the main opposition BJP may try to surround the government on the issue of rising infection of Covid-19, law and order and illegal mining in the state.

According to officials, now only two MLAs will be able to sit on one seat inside the house and there will be a glass wall between them. Apart from this, 11 additional seats have also been arranged. Assembly Speaker Charan Das Mahant is scheduled to take stock of the measures taken to prevent Covid-19 infection in the assembly premises on Monday. He told that legislators have to follow physical distance inside the assembly premises. In addition, they are required to use a mask or face cover and periodically sanitize or wash their hands.

Officials said that while entering the house, thermal screening and oxygen level of each member will be checked. The entry of the public is going to be forbidden in the assembly between sessions. Fumigation and sanitization are done regularly in the assembly premises. Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly Dharamlal Kaushik said that his party is going to raise several cases in the state, including the rising effects of Covid-19 infection, illegal sale of liquor, elephant deaths, quarantine centre situation, illegal sand mining. He has said that "A four-day session is not enough to seek answers from the government, but during this limited time, we will vigorously raise all issues related to the public interest".
