The war against Covid-19 continues in India. Meanwhile, the capacity of Covid-19 testing is increasing rapidly in India. With each passing day, India is increasing its testing power. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) for the first time has conducted corona tests of more than 3 lakh people in 1 day in India. According to an Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) official, as of July 14, 1,24,12,664 samples have been corona tested in India. Of these, on Tuesday (July 14), the maximum corona test of 3,20,161 samples has been done in 1 day.
As per WHO instructions, India has been asked to conduct 140 tests per lakh in 1 day whereas 22 states / Union Territories in the country are already doing 140 tests per lakh in 1 day. In the country, 8994 corona tests are being conducted per 1 day.
It is to be noted that to increase the capacity of corona testing in India, the ICMR has approved a total of 1223 corona testing laboratories in India both in the public (865) and private sector (358). This includes 633 RT-PCR labs (633). TruNat Labs (491) and CBNAAT Labs (99) are also included. ICMR's new advisory on strategies against Covid-19 has stated that the ICMR has advised all concerned state governments, public and private institutions to take necessary steps to test the corona.
