Hyderabad: With the approval of the state government for promotion in various departments, about 8,000 teachers working in various government schools are likely to get promotions.

Promotions include Secondary Grade Teacher (SGT) to School Assistant (SI), Principals from SI. The department estimates that about 6,500 teachers could be promoted to school assistants. Similarly, about 1,500 SAS are likely to be promoted as principals in various public schools.

About 8,000 teachers in various government schools are expected to be promoted. "We have started the process as per the instructions of the state government and are working on it," an official said.

Before the new year, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had promised to solve all the problems, including staff, promotion and transfer, it is done now.

Minister of Education  on various issues related to this department. Sabita Indra Reddy recently had a meeting with Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar and other senior officials of the education department. The minister directed the officials at the meeting to prepare an action plan to promote teaching and non-teaching staff of various communities.

The minister said the promotion of teachers should be completed by the end of January as per the instructions of the Chief Minister.
