So far, over 81.79 lakh people have been affected in sixteen districts due to floods in Bihar. On Thursday, the death toll reached 27. While issuing a bulletin in this information disaster management department, the department said in its bulletin that two people of Khagaria towns have died. On Thursday, a population of over 11.59 thousand people was hit by floods.

According to the department, in 1,317 panchayats of 130 blocks of these cities, 81,67,671 population has been affected till Wednesday evening and 81,79,257 population till Thursday. Out of these 27 deaths, 11 people were killed in Darbhanga district, six in Muzaffarpur, four in West Champaran and two each in Saran, Siwan and Khagaria. Similarly, M Ramachandrudu, Additional Secretary, Disaster Management Department said that out of total six relief centers, 5 centers are running in Samastipur and one in Khagaria. A total of 5,186 people are staying in relief centers.

He said that 26 teams of NDRF and SDRF have so far evacuated about 5.50 lakh people. Ramachandrudu said that the state government has so far sent Rs 555.60 crore to the bank accounts of 9,26,077 flood-affected families in the state. He said that at present the work of providing relief is going on and the remaining family will be given funds very soon.
