Morocco: An online petition has been launched requesting that Morocco cancel the extradition order for Idres Hasan, a Uyghur man, to China and release him immediately.

According to the petition, millions of Uyghurs and other Turkic Muslims, including many family members of Uyghurs from around the world, are currently imprisoned in Chinese concentration camps, tortured, killed, and sentenced to long-term imprisonment. The harm caused by Chinese persecution is not limited to the people of East Turkistan; Uyghurs all over the world are being persecuted by countries that have close economic and diplomatic ties with China, with China labelling all Uyghur Muslims as terrorists.

Hasan, a 34-year-old computer software programmer and father of three young children, was detained on July 23 while travelling from Turkey to Morocco and was taken to a prison near the town of Tiflet. Activists learned on December 15 that Morocco had decided to deport him to China. According to the petition, this deportation amounts to the death penalty and violates every single international law. He has a valid residency permit in Turkey. Morocco's decision to deport Idris contributes to China's current genocide in East Turkistan.
